Fletcher in ODI squad

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

Grenadian batsman André Fletcher is poised to make his West Indies debut after being named in a 14-man squad for the first three One-Day Internationals (ODI) of the Digicel series against Australia.

The 21-year-old, right-hander, one of the more talented batsmen in the region, has been included in the squad which also sees the return of Trinidadian big-hitter Kieron Pollard and Barbadian wicketkeeper/batsman Patrick Browne.

Opening batsman Xavier Marshall has been retained following solid performances in the last two Tests.

The first ODI bowls off at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex in St Vincent on June 24 with Grenada's National Stadium hosting the next two matches on June 27 and 29, respectively. Warner Park in St Kitts will host the final two ODIs on July 4 and 6.

SQUAD: Chris Gayle (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Patrick Browne, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Fidel Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Xavier Marshall, Keiron Pollard, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Darren Sammy, Jerome Taylor.
