This bike was parked recently by the police at the busy Matilda's Corner, Liguanea, St Andrew intersection, apparently to prevent motorists from making an illegal U-turn, but also raising concerns about obstructing other motorists. - Contributed
The Editor, Sir:
Last Friday on June 13, on my way to work in the morning, I was in my car on Barbican Road, waiting on the green light, in order to proceed across the intersection and on to Old Hope Road, to continue towards the Cross Roads direction.
Two policemen were standing on the sidewalk, on my left, carrying on a conversation, next to the Esso gas station. One of them had his motorcycle (pictured at right) parked on the roadside, just beside them on the sidewalk. The other policeman had his motorcycle parked on the main road, in the busy intersection.
Avoid 'brushing'
Motorists had to be very careful to avoid 'brushing' his motorcycle. I have noticed policemen park their motorcycles in this manner on numerous occasions, all over the Corporate Area. Is there a separate law for them and other road users?
Since I am 'afraid' of these motorised patrol police men, please do not publish my name.
I am, etc.,
The driver
