Yes to success
Thank you for reporting on the 'Yes' programme. It is indeed heartening to know that there are programmes like this one for our young people. We need to highlight more of these successes, as I am sure there are others. Keep the positive reports coming on what is good about Jamaica. We are not all about criminality and violence.

More on music
Re Hartley Neita's 'Music that soothes' piece on choirs on Saturday, June 7, there is one singer he forgot. That was Edgar Stephenson. He had this beautiful tenor voice and sang at church concerts all around. Sometimes, you would see him at Vere Johns amateur hour shows. The choir at Jones Town Baptist under the Rev M.E.W. Sawyers was also very good. I do recall some of the concerts they had.

Camera phones
I can think of many better uses for camera phones and digital cameras, such as, recording your baby's first smile, words, walk; capturing your brother's GSAT success, recording a crime in progress for reporting to police at a later date (far better than calling for 'justice' without evidence), capturing special moments with Dad on Father's Day, celebrating with your sister on her wedding day, or securing evidence of police abuse or corruption.
