Police blotter

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) has reported that three persons died violently on the weekend.

James Dyer, 44, a construction worker of Stettin district in Trelawny, was stabbed to death in that community on Saturday night.

Reports are that at 8:00 p.m., Dyer and another man were involved in a dispute at a shop in the community. During the altercation, a knife was used to stab him several times. He died on the spot. The police were summoned and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

The Ulster Spring police are seeking Joel Ferguson of Stettin district who they believe can assist in their investigation.

Two men were shot, one fatally, by gunmen at 5 East, Greater Portmore, St Catherine, last night.

Dead is 20-year-old Edmund Thomas, otherwise called 'Eddie'. Injured is an unidentified 22-year-old man who also resides in 5 East, Greater Portmore.

The CCN Liaison Officer for St Catherine South reported that at 11:15 p.m., both men were walking along a roadway in the community when they were attacked and shot several times. They were taken to hospital where Thomas was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.

A man from 13th Street in Old Harbour was shot and killed yesterday morning.

Dead is Garfield Davis, 34, otherwise called 'Gonga', of McLeod Close, Old Harbour.

Reports are that at 1:30 a.m., residents heard explosions and summoned the police. On their arrival, Davis' body with gunshot wounds was found lying at the front of a premises. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
