Jamaica must find its own way
published: Friday | June 13, 2008

The Editor Sir

Jamaica has to find its own way by changing the mindset of handouts and earn its own way by embracing education and innovation. Strategically situated in the Caribbean basin, we need to initiate more bio-med testing vis-à-vis all the natural remedies native to the island, recognise and develop the entrepreneurial spirit and fund small business to produce more exportable goods and services.

Millions of us abroad

Well, we say, we don't have enough educated people with the resources to do this? Wrong, there are millions of us abroad with a lot knowledge and experience which we are willing to share, but are not allowed to because we are seen as idiots. The problem is we have learned to live lawfully and orderly and may not be used to the culture of corruption and theft, but we are not stupid.

If you harness, the education, knowledge and ingenuity of Jamaicans abroad, we would help open markets for your goods, but you have to do your part!

I am, etc.,
