The Editor, Sir:
Kindly publish the following letter sent to Prime Minister Bruce Golding:
Dear Prime Minister,
Accept holy greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is with a sense of pride that the Bethel United Church organisation congratulates you for the commendable way you handled the recent interview on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) programme, 'Hardtalk'.
The subjects covered were generally challenging, but you addressed them in an enlightened way. I am particularly pleased with your response to the homosexual issue. Your response shows that the responsibility and faith entrusted in you when you were elected was totally justified.
May your leadership be always guided by Godly conviction.
We at Bethel are committed to playing our part in engaging the society to uphold spiritual values.
Through our social outreach programmes, we seek to reach the poor and disfranchised, instilling in them, positive values and hope for a better Jamaica.
We continue to pray for you and the members of your team that God will grant you wisdom and courage as you face each new challenge. God bless you richly.
We are, etc.,
Bethel United Church of Jesus
Christ (Apostolic)
Ira D. Thompson, Pastor
Island Bishop
