The classic food drink, Milo, has joined the boxes in the cereal section of supermarkets.
Some like it hot, some like it cold, but now cereal lovers can enjoy Milo in its new form - as a breakfast cereal. It is rich in complex carbohydrates that are an important source of energy for the body.
Pleasing our customers
Brand manager of the product, David McFarlane, said that Nestlé is a versatile company and is always looking for new ways to please its customers. "We already have a wide range of Milo products and we want people to have Milo in every form. This was just a way for us to be flexible," he said.
In every box of Milo cereal, you can taste the natural goodness of malt combined with the delicious cocoa. "Mothers can now feel confident about its nutritional qualifications as it is made with whole grain."
Milo Breakfast Cereal is a source of calcium and has eight other essential vitamins and minerals important for your health, including: calcium, for strong teeth and bones, iron, to help deliver oxygen to the body, vitamin C, to help improve iron absorption, and vitamins B1 and B2, to help release energy from foods.
The cereal contains 10 grams of sugar per 30 grams portion that is lower than an apple that has 13 grams of sugar, making it a good choice as part of a complete breakfast.
McFlarlane notes that it is made with whole grains, like every other Nestlé breakfast cereal. He added that whole grains contain a powerful mix of essential nutrients, such as antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fibre that provide many health benefits. The complex carbohydrates and fiber contained in whole grains slow the release of energy into the body, providing fuel for teens to get through the entire morning.
The most important meal of the day is a balanced and full breakfast, essential especially children. "While no one food alone makes a perfect breakfast, the facts about cereals make them a good nutritional choice."
Milo Breakfast Cereal is available in all supermarkets islandwide. Also, this Saturday, June 7, there will be a grand launch of the product at the Jamaica College, Old Hope Road, in Kingston.
