
Subaru Legacy STI 5402 is a limited edition.Subaru is putting out yet another limited-edition model that will never come to the American shores. The Legacy STI S402 will be limited to 402 units in sedan and wagon trim. The STI S402 is powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged boxer engine that delivers 282hp at 5,600 rpm and torque to 392 Nm (available between 2,000 and 4,800 rpm). The engine is connected to a 6spd manual gearbox. The front fenders have been widened by 20mm, the steering ratio has been reduced to 13:1 and Bilstein shocks are fitted at all four corners, along with 18-inch BBS wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050A rubber. The brakes have been upgraded to units from Brembo, with six-piston calipers up front and two-pot calipers in the rear gripping upgraded rotors. Aside from all the required badging, Subaru has fitted new gauges to the IP, along with a MOMO steering wheel and aluminium shift knob. Sales begin in Japan on June 27.
Toyota makes one million Prius hybrids
Toyota announced that cumulative sales of the Toyota Prius hybrid vehicle have passed the one million units sold as at the end of April. Currently, the Prius is sold in more than 40 countries. It was launched in Japan in 1997 and began selling in Europe, North America and other markets in 2000. In 2005, Toyota began the first overseas production of the Prius in Changchun, China. TMC believes that Prius vehicles worldwide have contributed to a reduction in CO2 emissions by producing approximately 4.5 million tons less CO2 when compared with gasolene-powered vehicles in the same class and of similar size and driving performance.
Diamond helmets for Heikki and Lewis
The Geneva, Switzerland-based diamond company, Steinmetz, signed a three-year deal with McLaren Formula 1 back in 2005 and celebrated with a diamond-inlaid steering wheel for Kimi 'Iceman' Raikkonen. This year, the two main Mercedes-McLaren drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen, will race with two very special helmets. Both helmets have a Forevermark diamond-encrusted Steinmetz logo and the drivers signature on top of the helmet are lined with hundreds of handcrafted diamonds.
Schumacher to race CBR1000RR
Seven-time Formula 1 racing champion Michael Schumacher will be on a Honda CBR1000RR at the IDM International German Motorbike Championship. There are rumours that he'll be racing under a false name, 'Marcel Niederhausen'. He will race alongside current champion Martin Bauer for Holzhauer Racing. Superbike racing features nearly 200hp in race trim. Thirty-seven-year-old Schumacher has been testing for the last few weeks with members of his new team.
Swift's 'Black and White' edition
Only 1200 units of the new Suzuki Swift 'Black and White' will be on sale in Germany beginning this month. The new limited version of the Swift will be available in two colours - pearl black and pearl white. The car will come standard with 16" wheels, a front lip spoiler, side skirts and a rear lip. 'Black and White' badges and a Clarion DVD/Navigation system will also be included.
Hamilton earnings
We all know that Lewis Hamilton, the most successful F1 British driver not yet to win a championship. He will secure a personal sponsorship deal with apparel giant Reebok for US$20 million. Two London media houses have reported that Hamilton could overtake David Beckham as the richest British sportsman. Some say even the great Schumacher whose worth is estimated at over US$1 billion, could fall foul to Hamilton. Hamilton has signed a new five-year deal with McLaren, worth US$140 million as well as deals with luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer, Boss clothing, Mobil oil.

Chevrolet Aveo made in Europe
The new five-door Chevrolet Aveo has been on sale in Europe for a few months now and the three-door hatchback ready to join its bigger brother this month. Chevrolet returned to Europe when GM re-branded Daewoo to Chevrolet in 2003. GM's Warsaw, Poland, plant aims to build 60,000 Aveos in 2008 and 100,000 in 2009. All these Aveos are destined for the European market.
