Last Saturday, the American Friends of Jamaica bestowed the 2008 International Humanitarian Award on philanthropists with exemplary contributions to the island. This year's recipients are Father Richard Ho Lung, founder/director of the Missionaries of the Poor, and Phillip Gore, chairman of Gore Developments, for their significant contributions to Jamaica.

And, we have a new security minister.
