Former national sprinter, Julien Dunkley, maintained his good form at the weekend when he won the 100 metres at the Georgia Invitational clocking 10.21 seconds.
Earlier this month Dunkley took the 100m at the Liberty Twilight Invitational in 10.22.
University of Technology's Jesse Saunders, running in the Georgia Invitational ended up third in 10.45. Saunders was also fourth in the 200m in 21.01.
There were also victories for the University of Technology's Nyoka Cole and Andre Drummond. After bagging third in the 100m in 11.48, Cole the former Holmwood Technical star, returned to score a good win over the 200m in 23.54.
Good meet
Drummond rounded off a good meet for the Stephen Francis-coached team as he took the 800m in 1:51.00. A Jamaican, Eric Keddoo, won the 110m hurdles in 14.02.
The Victor "Poppy" Thomas-coached Lincoln University also did well at the Billy Hayes Invitational in Indiana.
Former Camperdown star Dwain Bryden captured the 100m in 10.60, while Wilbert Walker, formerly of Morant Bay High School, won the triple jump with 15.92m. He also finished second in the long jump with a modest 7.28m. Michael Trusty, formerly of GC Foster College took the runner-up spot in the 200m in 21.55.
Among the females Nandella Cameron took the sprint double for Lincoln University. The Trinidadian won the 100m in 11.77 and the 200m in 23.98. Former Manchester High athlete Jody Ann Powell was runner-up in the 100m in 11.88, while Monique Robinson, a former GC Foster student, was third in the 200m in 24.46. Robinson was also third in the 400m in 54.77.
Back from injury
Former Camperdown High athlete, Carla Thomas, the defending Division II 400 metres hurdles champion, returned to competition after injury with two third place finishes. She recorded 59.28 in the 400m hurdles and 14.00 in the 100m hurdles.
Competing at the Nebraska Invitational, former Calabar jumper Nicholas Gordon took the long jump with a mark of 7.45m.
