NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD midfielder Kenardo Forbes, in his first season at Waterhouse, executed brilliant passes to bring the 'Firehouse' team to the brink of victory in an intense battle with second-place Tivoli Gardens at the

Waterhouse went down 4-3 but that didn't douse Forbes' enthusiasm after the match.

According to the teenager, football has been his passion for a number of years, and he hopes to build a career out of it.

Good season

"It was a very good season for me, although the team did not finish the way we had wanted," Forbes said after the match.

"Right now I want to take it to the next level. I intend to stay with the team and continue to play well," he said.

"Hopefully, I will get drafted into the national squad and represent my country."

The former Naggo Head player combined with striker Leon Strickland to give Waterhouse a shot at victory.

Strickland, with a hat-trick (26th, 72nd and 76th minutes), gave Waterhouse the edge but that wasn't quite enough as Tivoli fought back.

On target

Craig Stewart delivered for Tivoli Gardens in the 34th minute and Jermaine Taylor (51st), Jermaine Gray (62nd) and Roland Dean (81st) were also on target.

Waterhouse's coach, Wayne Fairclough, said his team had numerous chances to score throughout the season and improve their league position but were careless in defence.

"I think we played in spurts. We lacked concentration and that plagued us all season. We started out as a weakened team but, fortunately for us, we have still remained in the top six," Fairclough said.

Tivoli's coach, Desmond Francis, said his team's performance was balanced throughout the season.

"Despite not clipping the NPL title we made good use of the season and, hopefully, we will come back better next season," Francis said.
