Mojitos, salsa, guacamole and merengue ruled supreme last Saturday night when Montego Bay's Groovy Grouper hosted its Cinco de Mayo Full Moon Frolic.

DJ Juan had patrons on the dance floor entertaining the small crowd as they showed off their mastery of dances, such as the salsa.

For others, comfortable beds adorned with colourful pillows made for great lounging spots and the snack bar boasted a range of offerings.

In the early hours of the morning, Marilu Peinado popped the piņata, revealing a bunch of prizes to the lucky persons close by.

Victory of the Mexican army

Spanish for May 5, Cinco de Mayo is a holiday generally celebrated in Puebla, Mexico, as well as other parts of the world. The holiday commemorates the victory of the Mexican army against the French forces in the initial battle waged by the French to occupy Mexico in 1860.

Out to celebrate were: Robert Rodriguez, Iesha Fearon, Atrida Peter, Howard Owen, Erika Miller, David Caso, Timothy Delebarra, Roel Mertens, Morrecia Martin, Maya Forrester, Nicola Francis, Andrea Howard and Natalie Spencer, among others.
