A mother's home is always adorned with flowers. Change those vases on her bedside table, entertainment centre and centre table. - Shelly-Ann Thompson.

It goes without saying: A mother deserves to be pampered and adoringly showered every day, but especially on Mother's Day.
Yes, the cost of living has escalated. However, that's not an excuse not to treat Mom on her special day, this Sunday.
Laura Butler, image building and social and professional etiquette guru, says the maxim - it's the thought that counts, still rings true.
"Spending time with Mom, cooking dinner for her or just paying her a long overdue visit may be the best gift that a mother wants this Sunday," Butler says.
"When it comes to gifts, it's not always about the money. First, do your research and find out what Mom wants. Sometimes, it's even best to ask," she adds.
Gift ideas
Forget the wallpaper, figurines and stockings for Mom this Mother's Day. Treat Mom with a gift that will warm her heart and bring a smile to her face, reminding her of the love shared between a mother and child.
An orchid: rather than roses, unless your mother is a lover of the flowers. Roses die within four days while orchids last for several weeks.
A spa/salon gift certificate: That needed trip to ease the stress brought on by juggling work and motherhood.
A brunch or dinner date: A day that Mom should never be in the kitchen. Call around at hotels and restaurants as several are offering brunch, lunch and dinner specials on Sunday.
A weekend at a resort or a trip abroad: Some mothers just want to get away for a while. If this is your mom, a day pass to one of those luxurious resorts on the north coast may make her feel young again. Other moms may want a trip to visit a friend or relative overseas. For summer, grant her wish.
