Steaming 'Season Rice' to be served
published: Thursday | May 8, 2008

Craig McNally will form part of the cast of 'Season Rice' - Junior Dowie/Staff Photographer

The Meal

M.A.D.K.O.W. Productions presents a comedic revue titled Season Rice, that good old Jamaican 'mix up' dish, which will find its way onstage this summer at the Pantry Playhouse, New Kingston, st Andrew.

Like the culinary delight, the play will be packed with a variety of ingredients for the whole family to enjoy dem belly full.

The Ingredients

Season Rice comprises sketches written by acclaimed writer Amba Chevannes and multiple Actor Boy Award winners, Michael Daley and Karl Williams. Musical arrangements and composition will be in the hands of the immensely talented Michael Sean Harris and Actor Boy Award winner Michael Holgate, who will be choreographing the movement.

The crazy cast of five includes the varied personalities of Rodney Campbell, Nadean Rawlins, Sakina Deer, Craig McNally, Lawrence 'Max' Woodham and Coleen Lewis from Si Wi Ya Entertainment and Comedy Buss fame!

The Recipe

Combine Jamaican situations of past and present, mix in generous cups of laughter, drops of bitters, sours, and nuff sweetness to taste.

Then turn up the heat, bring all to a boil, but don't forget to include the tings that get 'salt' fi di year, and is so we poke fun as we serve it up .

Season Rice opens on July 4, and will run from Wednesdays to Sundays until July 27. Shows are Wednesdays to Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.

Sundays at 6:30 p.m.
