Appeal for change
published: Wednesday | May 7, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Please permit me to make this open appeal to all my fellow country men and women, boys and girls.

The time has come for us to decide what we want for our country and how to achieve this. The path we are taking is leading us backward.

We are causing our heroes to turn in their graves after they fought so hard to free us from slavery and to make us a nation of liberty and pride.

Examine yourselves

Politicians, what do you want for this country? It is time for you all to examine yourselves and see what your motives are for this country, not for yourselves and your family only.

Church leaders, you should be leading from the front and open the churches for the lost to find sanctuary.

Parents, do not leave your children to fend for themselves, while you go have fun. Help with the homework and teach them to have respect and love for their fellow men.

Media houses, you are the eyes and ears to inform us of the truth, undiluted and without selfish objectives.

To all, every life that is taken by the gun is taken by you if you sit and do nothing about it. We have the key to change the locks on the doors of corruption, greed and violence, let us do so as one nation under God.

I am, etc.,
