Jetsetters 'A' hoping to shoot up the standings
published: Saturday | May 3, 2008

Robert Bailey, Freelance Writer

Jetsetters 'A' and Tivoli Gardens 'B' will square-off in today's lone game of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Berger Paints Super League at St Andrew High School, starting at 5:20 p.m.

"It is going to be a good game because Jetsetters have been playing very disciplined this season and I believe that they are going to put on a good show against us," said Sylvester Campbell, coach of Tivoli Gardens 'B'.

Good defensive unit

"We have a good defensive unit to challenge the Jetsetters attackers who have been playing very disciplined at the moment. We just have to go out there and make sure that we continue to keep our standard of play very high," Campbell stated.

Jetsetters' coach, C. Lloyd Walker, also expects a strong game.

He said: "We are going there to play good netball because Tivoli Gardens is a strong team and the only problem with them is that they have been playing in the shadow of their 'A' team.

"We are trying to move ourselves up the ladder and so we are going to work very hard to win this game because we see it as an opportunity to move up," Walker added.

After six matches, Jetsetters 'A' are tied at fifth with Windalco on nine points, while Tivoli 'B' are seventh with six points.

Defending champions Jamalco lead the standings with 18 points.

Meanwhile, in the Supreme Ventures divisional 'A' league, a number of games are scheduled for the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 2:30 p.m.

Police 'B' will tackle Leiba Gardens, Molynes United 'B' face Speg 'B', Hampshire 'C' await Omega 'A', Ravens 'B' entertain Skibo 'B' and Ocho Rios Magics battle Hampshire 'B'.

In the Supreme Ventures 'C' League, where matches will start at 12:30 p.m., Rollington Town 'A' will oppose Duhaney Strikers, Red Challenge tackle Waulgrovians 'C', Correctional Services will play against Omega 'B' and New Kingston Raiders 'A' will challenge Whitehorses.

In action from the Western Union 'B' league, starting at 1:30 p.m., Bridgeport 'A' tackle Jetsetters 'B', Alpha 'B' match skills against Jetsetters 'C' and Greenwich battle East Central.
