Fear of lizards
Ditto to everything Denise and Pauline said about lizards in the Flair. I have the greatest fear of them, to the point where I often tell people that I would rather face and kill a scorpion than a lizard.
When I'm cornered by one, my joints get weak, I'm awash with cold sweat, I cry, and if it comes to the point where I see one dead, I will vomit at the sight. I pray to get over this fear, and even vowed to live in a non-tropical country, just to avoid them. I can't even spray them or touch them with a long stick. Please help me, as I fear all types and sizes.

People power
Now that the court has handed down the rather predictable decision, Vaz will now denounce his American citizenship so as to contest what will hopefully be a not-too-distant by-election. Notwithstanding the sentiment that he was right in taking Vaz to court, Dabdoub should not have expected the court to declare him the MP. Only the people of the constituency should have the power to choose their representative. Responsibility for the debacle that the constituency has found itself in should rest squarely at the feet of Vaz and the JLP. Given the legal talent that resides in the JLP, I cannot understand how Vaz was able to contest the seat.

Hanging reminder
I just want the present government to remember that they promised to resume hanging, and by so doing, execute the law of the land. Are we not an independent nation?

Wolmerian discipline
It is a refreshing change to see that discipline still exists in school. The Wolmer's School community, and in particular the girls' school of which I am a product and which my daughter attends, plays the National Anthem in the mornings, and no matter what the girls are doing, once the anthem starts playing, they stand at attention. This morning, while driving down Marescaux Road on reaching near the school, I observed four girls and two boys, all Wolmerians, standing at attention right there on the sidewalk, oblivious to the passing traffic. Age quod agis!
