Kingston College (KC) and Ardenne High booked their place in this year's finals of the KFC all-island schoolboy Under-19 and Under-16 basketball competitions, respectively, following victories over St George's College and St Jago at the National Stadium Court yesterday.

Ardenne stopped St Jago 62-41 and KC defeated St George's College 56-43. KC will now face Ardenne in the Under-19 final, while Ardenne await the winner of the Old Harbour and KC semis in the Under-16 competition.

Leading scorers

Dimitri Gauge led the way for Ardenne with a game-high 16 points and six rebounds, receiving solid support from Adam Fernandez (16 points) and Corey Robinson (14 points and 11 rebounds). Jermaine Parker, with 10 points and nine rebounds and Rojec Witter, eight points and 13 rebounds, were the leading scorers for St Jago.

In the senior match, Omari Green led the way for KC with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Sean Moss, who scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Lauriston Gibson put up 19 points , while Cleon Morrison had 11 points and eight rebounds for St Georges College.

"This game should have been an easy game but the players lost their composure during the fourth quarter, which resulted in a number of turnovers by us," said Andrew Jackson, coach of KC.

St George's coach, Clifford Brown, said: "I thought we didn't crush enough boards offensively on the second chances that we got and our free-throw shooting was a big disappointment because we made six from 20 and that is poor for us."
