JAMAICA FIRE Brigade recorded their second consecutive victory in this year's Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Western Union Divisional B League with an exciting 26-25 win over G.C Foster College at the Leila Robinson Courts yesterday.

In the day's other games, Waulgrovians 'C' defeated Police 'B' 25-22, Leiba 'B' edged Molynes United 'B' 16-15 and Red Challenge stopped Speg 'B' 23-15.

In the Supreme Venture Divisional C League, Bridgeport 'B' edged Rollington Town 'B' 21-20, Jetsetters 'C' stopped Hagley Park 27-18, East Central and Molynes United C' played to a 18-18 tie and Duhaney Strikers were awarded the points when Torrington Park failed to show.

Phillip St. Marie, coach of Jamaica Fire Brigade, was pleased with his team's performance.

A very good game

"I think it was a very good game because it went down to the wire and I must thank God that we came out victorious," said St. Marie.

"I must also give a lot of credit to my centre, Kaysia Brown, because I think she did an excellent job for us in the centre circle in which she intercepted a number of passes," he said.

"I am very confident that we can go on to win this (section) because the players are getting better and better with every game that they play and they are also peaking at the right time."

C. Lloyd Walker, coach of G.C Foster College, said: "The game was a lacklustre one by both teams.

"I don't like to blame the officials but I think we need be careful as to what level officials we use with the type of standard of play because I think the officiating was below the standard of play," he said.
