Thirty years in any institution or alliance is a long time, and Delroy and Patricia Chuck invited family and friends to celebrate their 30 years of marriage and learn some of the secrets for its success.

The venue, the couple's Jack's Hill residence, was transformed to comfort and perfection by the capable hands of Ann Marie Weiss. The couple also renewed their wedding vows.

The couple's bestman at their wedding, Professor Neville Duncan, toasted Mrs Chuck for remaining effervescent and allowing her husband to enter politics. He lauded Mr Chuck's sharp mind as a mathematician and said, "You have been a great team."

Other speakers included Dr Ken Baugh, Gladwyn Kiddoe, Derrick McKoy and Neville Hendricks. In his reply, Mr Chuck said God has been very good to his family and he has been very lucky. "My family has been there for me; they have been my greatest critics but they have been supportive. I have completed 30 years and am more than willing to complete the life sentence." Mrs Chuck said after 30 years she is still smiling and it means "I did something right."
