Amnesty is lying
published: Sunday | April 13, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

With reference to the report in The Gleaner, April 2, Page 3 headlined "Golding pleads with Amnesty", we see no reason why our prime minister, Mr Golding, or any Jamaican has anything to plead to Amnesty about because what these organisations are alleging about Jamaicans allowing Jamaicans to kill each other is the Devil's lie.

Neither the Jamaican Government, the JLP, or the PNP, or we the Jamaican people condone our people killing each other.

If they had said the USA is allowing the people in Iraq to kill each other daily, they would be talking the truth, but they haven't the guts to tell the big and strong the truth, so they take it out on the weak.

Weak

Yes, we Jamaicans are weak. However, in morals, we are stronger than any of the big and mighty and we are calling on Mr Golding to demand an apology from Amnesty. To state that Jamaicans allow Jamaicans to kill each other anywhere in Jamaica is a big lie.

We don't, we are more God-fearing than our accusers. God help us.

I am, etc.,
