published: Monday | April 7, 2008

Keisha Hill, Staff Reporter

BOYS' Town improved their points tally to 25 in the Coca-Cola National Under-21 League following an impressive 3-1 victory over Waterhouse at Collie Smith Drive on Friday.

The win lifted Boys' Town to seventh spot in the standing while Waterhouse remain in third on 31 points.

Boys' Town got off to a brilliant start. Ace-striker Peter Keys opened the scoring in the 26th minute from a left side shot that eluded the goal-keeper. The half ended with Boys' Town leading 1-0.

Nine minutes after the resumption Keys delivered again in the 54th minute from the penalty spot. Shamari Small made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute. Small took the ball from the edge of the box and dribbled around the goalkeeper before scoring.

Consolation goal

Ramone Palmer scored a consolation goal for Waterhouse in the 62nd minute.

Perry Bartley, coach of Boys' Town, stated that his team's victory was accomplished by sheer determination.

"We prepared well for this encounter. I am not going to beat down on them because they really stuck to the task. We are going to try and keep the discipline and stayed focused and try to keep our foot on the ground and see if we can take it another notch up," he said.

In Friday's other games, Arnett Gardens failed to show for their game with Village United at the Elliston Wakeland Centre.
