A 90th-minute strike from substitute Edward Campbell earned Seba United a come-from-behind 1-1 draw with hosts Arnett Gardens in their Cash Plus Premier League at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.
The draw left Arnett Gardens second from bottom of the table with 32 points, two ahead of last-place August Town (30) and, according to coach Jerome Waite, the players need to start scoring goals.
"Our concentration faltered towards the end because one of our defenders was off due to injury and the team needed to make the adjustments and they just went to pieces," said Waite.
"We still have two more games before the next round starts and we are hoping that we can find the right chemistry. Injuries are a factor but we are just hoping that the players will rise to the occasion," Waite added.
A win would be better
Alrick Henry, coach of Seba United, said: "I am happy for the draw but a win would be better for us because we are down in the bottom six of the competition and we are fighting to come out of this.
"I am pleased with the performance of my team, however, as we soaked up a lot of pressure from them in the first half and majority of the second half," Henry said. "We saw that they were getting a bit tired towards the end, and we just capitalised on this and we found the equaliser."
Arnett Gardens dominated the early proceedings and were finally rewarded in the 36th minute when former national striker Onandi Lowe tapped home a well-placed cross from Kevin Wilson.
However, Campbell pulled his team level when he fired home a powerful left-footed shot past custodian Julian McLeish.
