OMAR REID, a 30-year-old labourer from Somerton district in Hanover, was charged on Saturday with the murder of British national Barbara Scott-Jones.
Constabulary Communication Network spokesman Troy Ander-son told The Gleaner that Reid was charged late Saturday, three days after he was captured by police in St James.
The police had been searching for Reid since March 21, when Scott-Jones' body was found in a pit at her Somerton home. Police say her skull was fractured and her nose and several teeth were broken.
A retired nurse, Scott-Jones hailed from Leeds in England. She arrived in Jamaica in January and was scheduled to return home on April 1.
