La Roose shooting victim under police guard
published: Tuesday | March 25, 2008

A man who was shot and injured at the La Roose nightclub in Portmore, St Catherine, on Sunday morning is now under police guard in hospital, recovering from his injuries. The man, whose identity is being withheld, is also a licensed firearm holder.

The man was shot along with seven other persons at the British Link Up dance. Clifton Reid, 41, of Anthony Road, Kingston 5, was killed during the shooting. The police have still not identified a motive for the shooting incident and details surrounding the shooting are still being investigated.

Senior Superintendent of Police Calvin Benjamin told The Gleaner yesterday that the police were currently conducting interviews with the injured persons, and are still trying to locate other patrons who had witnessed the event.
