I found my heart's desire

Denise Reid, Gleaner Writer

Asrick Fisher and Shereen Barron became man and wife on Saturday March 8, when the two tied the knot at the Faith Temple Assemblies of God in Montego Bay. - Denise Reid photo

Even with tears streaming down her face as her father escorted her up the aisle, Shereen Barron was a gorgeous bride. And the look on the face of husband-to-be Asrick Fisher, confirmed this. He is the son of two-time Gleaner Christmas cake contest winner, Valerie Davis. And she also made the wedding cake.

A chance meeting some four years ago at Riu Tropical Bay in Negril sealed the couple's fate. No doubt captivated by Shereen's beauty, Asrick explained that he approached her, introduced himself and struck up a conversation. Thirty-year-old Shereen, who is shy, erupts into giggles when recalling the events and admits, "I fell in love from there."

The qualities I was looking for in a lady, I saw them in her. We enjoyed ourselves together and and love kept on growing from that point," said 32-year-old Asrick of Shereen who had become his lover and friend by March last year when he popped the question.

"I was feeling so happy when he asked," said Shereen who told Flair, "I accepted because he had all the qualities I need in man."

The couple tied the knot two weeks ago at the Faith Temple Assemblies of God in Montego Bay, with a small group of family and close friends. The officiating minister was Pastor Everton Anderson. Pastor Martin Taylor also blessed the pair.

Perfect match

Left: When attorney-at-law, Natasha Thompson, and video producer, Wayne Benjamin, they said their I dos, it was exactly 12 years to the date when their first met. On February 2, at the beautiful Ruins at the University of the West Indies, with the mountains as the backdrop, their dream wedding was indeed a magical day.

Wayne noted that when he met Natasha he was immediately attracted to her. "I liked her person-ality she's really great to talk to, very intelligent".

Similarly, Natasha thought her husband was very smart and funny. Her wedding day is one she will never forget, especially being serenaded by Taurrus Riley with 'Stay with you' and 'She's Royal'. The officiating minister was George Hutchinson. Right: Rohan Evans and Kay-Ann Swaby got married on December 15, 2007, at the Church of United Mission. Officiating minister was Reverend Lawrence Brown.
