Tivoli Gardens, fresh from their Open League title success, were fast out the blocks on Saturday, turning back Molynes A 50-35 in the Berger Paints-sponsored Super League, as the Jamaica Netball Association divisional competition at the Leila Robinson Courts.
"I'm satisfied with the win," said Tivoli's coach, Sylvester Campbell. "This is the Super League and we expect stiff competition. I thought Molynes played well, but we stuck to the task and came out on top."
Tivoli were led by their dependable goal shooter Cleopatra Grant, who scored 43 goals from 58 attempts. Nicola Peart scored the remaining seven goals from 12 tries. National player Christina Solmon on 22 from 31 shooting and Odette Harris, 11 from 15, netted most goals for Molynes.
Jetsetters stopped

Windalco stopped Jetsetters A 44-40. Dianna Millwood led the winners with 17 goals from 21 tries. Petal Smith also scored 17 goals, but from 22 tries, while Nordia Hanson made three of six attempts. Crystal Gordon netted 35 goals from 46 tries and Annette Miller, with four from 10, scored for Jetsetters A.
Alpha scored a narrow 33-31 win over Alexander Strikers, with Crystal Duffus shooting 22/31 to lead her team, while Vanessa Walker's 9/15 shooting was the best for Alexander Strikers.
Hampshire A demolished Max-field 41-18 as Mishka Bunfield sunk 23 from 28, with support coming from Tara Wilson with 15 from 34.
Tivoli B made it two wins on the day for the West Kingston-based club when they scored a hard-fought 46-43 victory over neighbours Arnett Gardens. Simone Rowe had the hot hand for Tivoli, scoring 27 goals from 34 tries, while, Patricia Chambers drained 19 from 28. Arnett's Kadian Mendez scored 32 goals from 48 attempts to lead her team.
Defending champions Jamalco were not in action on the opening day.
