Caribbean club champions Harbour View scored in time added for stoppages to draw 2-2 with bottom-of-the-table August Town in a nail-biting finish in Cash Plus Premier League action at the UWI Bowl yesterday.

Harbour View sprung into the lead in the 13th minute with a brilliant right-footed kick from Rafeik Thomas. Thomas' shot hit the bar and bounced in off the left post as goalkeeper Devon Haughton tried relentlessly to keep the ball out of the goal.

Unrelenting play

August Town, with unrelenting play, equalised in the 36th minute with a scorching goal from Jermaine Simpson. He powered his shot to the left side of the goal, which caught goalkeeper Dwayne Miller off guard.

In the second-half, substitute David Stultz gave August Town the lead in the 68th minute, which ignited the August Town supporters.

Harbour View, it seemed, were not prepared for such an onslaught and desperately tried to maintain their momentum with the numerous substitutions that followed.

It took a last-minute goal from Marcelino Blackburn to save the struggling Stars of the East and in effect bury August Town's hopes of improving their standing in the league.

Lenworth Hyde, coach of Harbour View, though expressing his dis-appointment with his team's lacklustre performance, stated that he was still happy to get a point.

"It was an evenly contested game. We got the lead in the first half and relaxed too much. We could have played better and fought back when it was too late. In order to remain competitive we have to play hard football and show some character," Hyde concluded.

August Town sit squarely at the bottom of the league on 23 points, while Harbour View remain in fifth place on 38 points.

Jermaine Simpson 36th

David Stultz 68th
