Jade anniversary

Going by the symbols to represent anniversaries, it's all jade for Management Control Systems, as the company is celebrating 35 years of operations.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, the management and staff of the information technology solutions provider, hosted a customer appreciation reception at The Jamaica Pegasus on Wednesday night. The invite says From here to virtuality, and it was a digital, futuristic-style decor with lights reminiscent of Star Trek episodes (not to mention the space-type boots donned by MC Kiki).

The reception was the culmination of a full day of activities which started with a CEO breakfast and then segued into an expo and seminar. So with the raising of the moon, came the raising of the entertainment level as guests were treated to an array of performances.

Entertainment

Violinist Nadje Leslie got things going with her repertoire which included lovers' rock, folk and even classical. Her rendition of Joyful Joyful was specially selected for the occasion. The vibrancy and movement of Dance Theatre Xaymaca brought much applause, plus models strut the catwalk sporting designs from Mumma Yashi, Barry Moncrieffe and Dexter Pottinger, again with that hint of the sci-fi/futuristic theme. And to cap off the evening, Tessanne Chin used her booming voice to really send the temperatures sky high.

Guests out included Brenda Cuthbert, Llewelyn Bailey, Leesa Kow, Donna Hale, Cornelia Brown, Paulette Bellamy, Dr Sherrill Chong, Carlos Viera, Gregory Douet, Paulette Francis, Denise Ramsay, Claudine Allen and Kenny Benjamin.
