Cloaked in black!
published: Sunday | March 9, 2008

Black is beautiful. Ebony wood is soft, beautiful and alluring. A black pearl is a rarity, a thing to be cherished. A black car, though, slams like no other colour. The end effect is just sinister. Serious business.

Diplomatic cars are usually cloaked in black. Morpheus' ride in The Matrix was a black Lincoln with suicide doors. Shoot a pickup in black, though, and slam 24" rims on it and the ride becomes the devil's own chariot. Walford Folkes, of Folkes Construction owns today's ride ... his '07 Chevy Avalanche sits on 24-inch chrome Ashanti MS chrome wheels wrapped in Toyo PROXES ST 285-40-R24's.

Smell the money

We swear, the sidewalls on this rubber ain't more than three fingers deep. Can you smell the money? Wally further 'phattened' out his ride with an aftermarket chrome grille, door handles and mirrors and a custom suede interior. He also shot the plastic roll bar and tonneau cover with a special UV inhibitor clear coat to prevent the burnout that usually happens with these trucks (after shooting it in black, of course). Stunning even when standing still. Proportions and stance on this rim and tyre combo makes this ride truly tremendous!
