D&G Malta increases sponsorship of Sigma run
published: Wednesday | March 5, 2008

Kingston, Jamaica:

D&G Malta is adding its potent flavour to this years' Pan Caribbean Sigma run. The annual charity fun run has, over the years, raised millions of dollars for worthy causes and the delicious non-alcoholic malt beverage will once again be a part of the event.

This year, D&G Malta has increased its support to the event by partnering as the gold sponsor to the tune of $400,000.

This staging falls at an opportune time for D&G Malta, which has just unleashed onto the market D&G Refresh and Velvet, two amazing variants of what was already a healthy product.

Perfect fit

According to Dave DaCosta, brand manager for Malta, the fun run is a perfect fit for D&G Malta so the brand decided to increase its sponsorship.

"The Pan Caribbean Sigma run has, over the years, encouraged a healthy lifestyle and has been directed towards persons who pursue such a lifestyle. Our new variants, Malta Refresh and Malta Velvet fall into that same category," DaCosta said.

As a major part of this partnership with the annual event, he said D&G Malta would be incorporating a very exciting entertainment package for all the participants and the onlookers at the event on Sunday March 9 at the Emancipation Park, in New Kingston.

"We have, in collaboration with VP Records, come up with a fun-filled and entertaining segment for the fun run. So far we have confirmed the conscious soulful reggae singer, Etana, the rising sensation Kris Kelli and the very talented Duane Stephenson who will no doubt enthral the audience after the annual run," DaCosta disclosed.

"This years' event is expected to be the biggest and best to date. It is the 10th staging of the annual run and, apart from the thousands who will turn out to participate, it is expected that over $2 million will be raised for a very worthy cause," he said.
