Business as usual at JN, despite strike
published: Wednesday | March 5, 2008

All branches and locations of the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) will be open for regular business today, despite continued strike action.

This announcement came from Carl Bliss, JN group human resources executive, following industrial action by some unionised management and supervisory staff members yesterday, which impacted on business operations.

Bliss said that today, personnel trained in branch operations will be deployed to the 29 JNBS branches and Money Shops across the island to ensure that normality is maintained.

He also stated that a meeting has been set for this afternoon with the Ministry of Labour to discuss a resolution to the industrial action.

"The Bustamante Industrial Trade Union is expected to attend that meeting, and we will discuss an amicable solution to the matter," he added.
