WESTERN BUREAU:
It was a swanky all-white affair for 'Jamerican' Patrick Williams who flew from Los Angeles, California, to celebrate his 39th birthday in grand style at his Bogue Village, Montego Bay, residence last Saturday.
With the entrance lined with lights and open torches along with the patrons decked in white and ladies in masks, the atmosphere was spectacular.
It had all the right elements: red carpet, a smoke machine, a saxophonist permeating - all providing a royal welcome for the birthday boy.
Archdeacon Hollis Lynch, in offering prayer, expressed gratitude to Williams for the part he is playing in caring for his sick mother, Mrs Eliza Allen.
After the buffet dinner, it was wild abandonment on the dance floor to the live music of Magic Moment and the Black Nation music systems.
Williams is originally from Mt Salem. He migrated 18 years ago and is the man behind the very popular Jamaica Independence Family Fun Day Picnic in Los Angeles. He is a quality control manager at Amtrak.
