Advertising clients were the toast of The Gleaner on Monday as the company hosted its appreciation and awards luncheon.

The people who keep the dough rolling to North Street were fed and fêted in fine style.

But the ultimate show-stopper was Beres Hammond who turned in the type of short, complete performance that persons would have paid to see. About halfway through the performance when he asked 'how me a gwaan?' the response was unequivocal as they urged him to continue. He performed such hits as Standing In My Way, Step Aside Now and Rock Away, which had a few guests vacating their seats and taking to the aisles to move.

Guests included Stanley Ellis, Peter Lindo, Stephanie Hare, Dorothy Duncan, Greg Webster, Michelle Wilson-Reynolds, Camille Taylor, Winsome Callum, Millicent Lynch, Ingrid Scott, Juliet Green, Nicole Lacey, Stacey Aiken, Janet Farrow, Nordia Henry, André Wilson, Wayne Miller, Sandra Shirley, Geron Francis, Chevonese Dacres, Shekeenah Mitchell, David Crawford, Sebastian Ogden, Franklyn Francis, Carmen Tipling, Kent LaCroix, Dawn Green, Suzette Rochester, Mark Thomas, Erica James-King, Charmaine Smith, Hugh Duffus, Carolyn Long, Kerry-Ann Parkins, Peta-Gaye Walker, Sade Forbes, Nickolaus Price, Veronica Lovindeer, Susan Fox, Novlette Harris, Norman Walker, Trevor King, Karen Watson-Pink, Yanique Forbes and Peter Graham.
