Some 23 Gleaner Company pensioners turned out in their finery on Tuesday for the newspaper's annual pensioners' luncheon at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.
Retired trade unionist Bromley Armstrong, OD, brought insight and humility as he delivered the main address,
while Oliver Clarke, chairman and managing director, reminded the pensioners that they were special.
The special guests were musically entertained by Dwight Richards on trumpet and Chris McDonald on keyboard.
Sydney Greaves, who gave invaluable service at Sangster's Book Stores, was also honoured.

Hubert Marsh, who still acts as tour guide for several visitors to The Gleaner, was present to accept his basket of goodies.

Shirley Rodney (right), Gleaner Company pensioner, who still works part-time as a sales representative at the newspaper, is all smiles as she receives her gift package from Marlene Armstrong, wife of guest speaker at the luncheon, Bromley Armstrong.
Tony Becca, pensioner and contributing sports editor at the newspaper, was on the ball as he accepted his gift package.
