McLarty/Morgan win Potter event
published: Thursday | February 21, 2008

THE NINTH Annual Stephen Potter Occasional Invitational Tennis Tournament (ASPOITT) was played on Sunday at the Liguanea Club, New Kingston.

By the narrowest of margins, and benefiting from some lucky calls, Rachel McLarty and Everton Morgan beat the three opposing teams of Tony Gambrill/Norman Marshall, Rosie McIver/Dr Richard Jones and Dr Richard Gomes/Oliver Clarke.

The award ceremony was held later that day. Dr Marshall Hall, a former tennis player, presented the small trophies to the winning team. Gambrill, ASPOITT tournament promoter, spoke at considerable length on the legacy Stephen Potter gave to gamesmanship.
