AWG brings 'Old Hollywood' glamour, glitter to Kingston
published: Friday | February 15, 2008

Picture the leading ladies of the silver screen, dressed to the nines and gliding down the red carpet, anxious paparazzi jostling for the money shot and rubbernecks craning to catch a glimpse of stars.

This is a scenario ripped right out of the pages of 1930s Hollywood - an age of decadence, glamour and sophistication - which will be recreated at the Hilton Kingston hotel on Saturday, February 16.

The American Women's Group (AWG) invites you to awaken the movie star in you with costumes inspired by the golden age of film for their annual Valentine's ball. Patrons can expect all the glitter and wonder of Hollywood at this premier event on the social calendar while jamming to the sounds of 50-50 Band.

Funds from this event are earmarked to provide relief for the society's less fortunate children.

Non-profit organisation

The AWG of Jamaica is a non-profit organisation whose membership consists of Americans, Jamaicans and wives of members of the diplomatic community, who focus on helping others. They provide educational scholarships and assist various communities with special needs.

The year's event will also feature a silent auction and funds raised will assist the group with its scholarship fund and community outreach programmes.
