No 'bad blood'
published: Wednesday | January 30, 2008

THE much-anticipated February 2, Jamaica-Trinidad and Tobago martial arts encounter in Port of Spain will be a 'gentleman's affair' despite both teams squaring off for millions of dollars in Busta sponsorship.

Jason McKay, captain of the Jamaica combined martial arts team, yesterday said no bad blood exists between the teams, one of which will walk away with the Busta sponsorship for a year.

"We still have the principles of martial arts to protect and it will be a gentleman's affair despite putting our traditional sponsorship on the line against our counterparts in Trinidad and Tobago," he pointed out.

Ambassador

"The organisation in Trinidad is run by Ryan Rampair, who is a many-time Jamaican representative and perhaps the greatest ambassador of tae kwon do in Jamaica.

"Any match under his management will represent fairness and the interest of both countries, which he currently serves," the combined team captain assured.

The Jamaica-Trinidad showdown is being billed as an exciting final match in the Caribbean Series, which Jamaica lead after defeating Cuba.
