Diesel claimed
published: Tuesday | January 29, 2008

Beaten favourite DIESEL was one of six horses claimed at Caymanas Park on Saturday, the seven-year-old gelding failing to capitalise on a drop in class.

The former overnight allowance horse was taken from trainer Glenville Morrissey for $460,000 by trainer Randolph Scott on behalf of Wayne Wilson after finishing third to JET BLASTER in the second race for high claimers.

In the eighth race which resulted in first past the post YAMASHITA'S GOLD being disqualified, beaten favourite TWENTY NINE was picked up for $240,000 by trainer Alden Francis on behalf of Lion Heart, while the third horse POWERFUL BELLE was taken for $260,000 by trainer Denrick Chambers on behalf of Keith Duncan.

The final three claims came in the closing straight five race won by the 30-1 outsider TRACK STAR. The runner up BACK POCKET was taken for $315,000 by trainer Gary Griffiths for Phillip Azar, beaten favourite FIRE D TRAINER also for $315,000 by Leroy Fearon on behalf of Clifton Thomas and MAGIC MOMENT for $305,000 by Lawrence Freemantle on behalf of Triple A Stables.
