A perfect day for a perfect wedding
published: Sunday | January 13, 2008

Dr. Steven Lofters gets ready to kiss his bride, Claudene Hutchinson, at the UWI Chapel last Saturday. - Peta-Gaye Clachar/Staff Photographer

The Hutchinson and Lofters families were inexorably joined on January 5, when their children, Claudene Hutchinson and Dr. Steven Lofters, were married at the historic University Chapel, Mona, St. Andrew. And the couple could not have wished for a more picture-perfect day; afternoon rays danced off the chapel's perfectly manicured lawns and flirted with the branches of trees that punctuate the 60 year-old property.

Rev. J. George Hutchinson, senior pastor, Church of God of Prophecy, presided.

The bride's white strapless Jasmine's bridal gown and the groom's black tuxedo contrasted beautifully with the bridesmaids' sage strapless dresses and groomsmen's tuxedoes with sage accents. Wedding coordinator Jackie Stephens' signature touches were evident in a theme that continued at the Hilton Hotel's ballroom.

The guest list included the groom's godfather Robert 'Bobby' Pickersgill; Esmin Ennis, bride's grandmother; aunts: Dr. Eugenie Harrison, Charmaine Hutchinson-Dixon; Sandra Hutchinson-Scott; Orett Leachman; her only uncle, Albert Daniel; Prof. Joe Pierera and wife Beverly; Dr. Freddie Clarke and wife Eileen; Dr. Cecil Aird, Langston Sibblies and daughter Josina, in from Cayman; Dr. Allan Giles and wife Hillary, in from France; Dr. Peter Figueroa and wife Marceline; Arusha and Diane Chambers; John Cook, Marjorie Holding Cobham, Brian Lofters, Doretha Lofters; Zakiya Lofters; Tony Lofters; R. Oscar Lofters; Louis and Marjorie Stephenson; Beverly Strachan; Richard and Jackie Fairclough; Frances and Eileen Felix; Lucy Whitelocke; Sylvester and Marian Lindo; Fred and Brenda Cuthbert; Professor Barrie Hanchard and wife Sonia; Wayne and Jean Lawrence; Gavin Jordan; Tameka Jordan; Susan Alexander; Sharon Asphal, and scores more.
