Gayle
Durban, South Africa:
West Indies captain Chris Gayle has indicated he will not recover in time to face the South Africans in the final game.
Gayle is recovering from a hamstring strain and fractured left thumb - which he noted could keep him out for a minimum of two weeks.
Fast bowler Fidel Edwards is also recovering from a hamstring injury and will continue to be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
Unchanged squad
Meanwhile, the West Indies squad of 16 players will remain the same for the third and final Test match against South Africa at Sahara Stadium, Kingsmead, Durban.
Yesterday, team manager Clive Lloyd noted that there was no plan in place to have players join the squad for the series decider, which starts on Thursday.
West Indies arrived in Durban yesterday afternoon from Cape Town. The series is level at 1-1.
The West Indies won the first Test at Sahara Oval, St. George's, Port Elizabeth, by 128 runs, while South Africa won the second match at Sahara Park, Newlands, Cape Town by seven wickets.

South Africa fined
CAPE TOWN, South Africa
(CMC):
South Africa were hit with a fine for a slow over-rate during their seven-wicket victory over the West Indies in the second Test at Newlands that ended Saturday.
South Africa won the match by seven wickets to level the three-match series at 1-1, but narrowly missed delivering the required overs in the time allowed.
"Roshan Mahanama of the Emirates elite panel of ICC match referees imposed the fines after Graeme Smith's side was ruled to be one over short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration," an ICC release stated on Sunday.
The South Africa captain Graeme Smith was fined 10 per cent of his match fee and other members of the side will have to pay up half of their match purse for the infraction.
