HEADS of Diplomatic and Consular Missions representing Jamaica overseas are back home hearing from Government as to the approach it intends to take in regards to penetrating markets and getting foreign direct investments here.
Dr. Ken Baugh, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, told The Gleaner yesterday that the week-long meeting is "very important".
He further said in a release that, "Our representatives will be able to obtain a deeper appreciation of the Government's policies and goals, especially their role as part of the renewed thrust to penetrate markets abroad and encourage investment in Jamaica".
The governing Jamaica Labour Party, which is led by Prime Minister Bruce Golding, has been in power for four months.
Golding, along with Audley Shaw, the Minster of Finance and the Public Service, Karl Samuda, the Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce and Clive Mullings - Energy, Mining and Telecommunication Minister, will address the heads of missions and Consular.
