Excitement filled the air as netballers and their enthusiasts turned out for the staging of the Jamaica National/Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Open League matches at the Leila Robinson Courts.
In the feature game between Bridgeport and Ocho Rios Magics, the game started at a moderate pace but Ocho Rios seemed a stronger outfit than Bridgeport and took the lead within minutes of the umpires whistle to start the game.
By the end of the first quarter Ocho Rios led Bridgpeort by nine points with the quarter ending 15-6. There was no return for Bridgpeort in the second quarter despite desperate attempts from goalshooter Monique Espeut, and goal attack Toniann Douglas.
Bridgeport were sent packing at the end of the quarter with a 20-point deficit and ended up losing 29-9.
