The Editor, Sir:
Your editorial of Monday, December 17, was disgraceful in a number of ways. Your insensitivity and ignorance is evident in your disregard for the lives of the ordinary Zimbabweans. If Mugabe has committed any crime it is allowing Ian Smith to still be living in today's Zimbabwe. He has committed a crime by not doing long before what he is doing now. How could he die with dignity if he had allowed business as usual with the white minority controlling the country even after so-called independence?
Robert Mugabe needs our support in his effort to instil dignity, strength and pride in a people who have been savagely controlled by aliens.
Dr. Sentamu needs to keep his collar on and remain what he is in a country like England. Woof, woof!
You must endeavour to do better than this. I am hurt by your editorial. You must apologise.
I am, etc.,
