Christmas Cake Competition

And the top ten are ...

Claudette Franscique

Judith Bailey

Verna Gordon-Binns

J. Coleman

Lorna Wilson

Janice Edwards

Carmen Clarke

Natalee Ffrench

Lesline Bernard

Jassette Jackson

The competition was keen but our selection panel was most convinced by these entries. Of course, they will have to beat two of last year's winners, Claudette Franscique and Natalee Ffrench.

Our panel of expert judges will include one of the island's top bakers and we look forward to cakes that 'remind you of the ones grandma made', or 'that utilise fruits such as mango, pineapple and sorrel', or that drive your taste buds wild', and 'magically turn a Christmas holiday into a true Jamaican experience'.

Please remember the following:

Cakes must be decorated: cakes must contain Red Label Wine. Bring your own presentation items, as well as a typed copy of your recipe. Be on time.

Bring cakes to: The Gleaner, 7 North Street, Kingston, on Monday, December 17, at 10:00 a.m.

The top three winners will take home $25,000; $20,000 and $15,000 as first, second and third prize, respectively, plus gift baskets of J. Wray and Nephew products valued at $10,000 each.
