BNS tops JSE Best Practices awards

The William Clarke-led Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited/Scotia Group Jamaica was tagged overall winner of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Best Practices Award to cop the Governor-General's trophy presented at the December 5 ceremony.

The bank also won for best annual report.

The annual awards were presented in five 'best of' categories as follows:

Investor relations: M/VL Stockbrokers Limited

Corporate disclosure and investor relations: National Commercial Bank

Best performing company: Salada Foods

Best annual report: Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica

Best website/brokerages: Jamaica Money Market Brokers

Best website/listed company: Jamaica Money Market Brokers Limited.

The awards are determined based on a year of accumulated data pulled together and analysed by committees established by the JSE to track listed companies.

The December 5 awards related to the companies' 2006 performance.
