  • Lara fails

    CHANDIGARH, India (CMC):

    Retired West Indies captain, Brian Lara, suffered his third failure as his Mumbai Champs lost again in the Indian Cricket League (ICL) Twenty20 Championship at Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium yesterday. Delhi Jets beat them by 24 runs. Electing to bat, Delhi Jets scored 163 for five off their 20 overs and Mumbai replied with 139 for nine.

    Lara made three, to follow his earlier scores of zero and four in Mumbai's other losses in the past week to Hyderabad Heroes and Chennai.

  • Open league

    The Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League competition continues today with Blades United opposing Omega in the feature game at the St. Hugh's High school, starting at 4:30 p.m.

    In the day's other games at 2:00 p.m. Rollington Town A tackle Hellshire A and Waulgrovians C battle East Central. At 2:50 p.m. Hampshire C await Bridgeport C and Jetsetters B entertain Hagley Park. At 3:40 p.m. Alpha B' oppose Jamaica Defence Force, Police C aim at Correctional Services and G.C. Foster Strikers tackle Speg B.

  • KSAFA leagues

    Leaders Bull Bay (13 points) will face off with the Jamaica Defence Force (11) in a key match-up today in the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Victoria Mutual Super League, at Up Park Camp today.

    In other games: Cavalier (5) vs Meadhaven United (12) at Constant Spring, Mountain View (6) vs Maverley-Hughenden (8) at Maverley, Elleston Flats (4) vs Constant Spring (4) at UWI Bowl, Rockfort (2) vs Duhaney Park (2) at the Bell Chung Oval, and Police National (4) vs Santos (5) at Duhaney Park.

    In the Major League (home teams named first), Real Mona vs Greenwich Town, Liguanea vs Seaview Gardens, Swallowfeild vs University of Technology, Rae Town vs Cooreville Gardens, Barbican vs Olympic Gardens, Brown's Town vs Central Kingston.
