Deacon case put off
published: Wednesday | December 5, 2007

The trafficking in person case against former church deacon, 46-year-old Donovan Jones, and three male teenagers, involving a 14-year-old schoolgirl, came before the Home Circuit Court on Monday.

The case was put off until Thursday for another trial date to be set.

Defence lawyers and the prosecutors said they were ready to proceed with the trial.

Justice Kay Beckford said the case could not be reached yesterday because the court was in the process of selecting a jury for another case.

The allegations are that, in April and May last year, the four sexually molested a 14-year-old schoolgirl and video-recorded the incidents.
