Nicola Marks: Dedicated
published: Monday | December 3, 2007

Keisha Shakespeare-Blackmore, Staff Reporter

Nicola Marks has been a very dedicated employee at Paymaster since she joined the company in 2001.

Though she is the sister of the boss, she still had to pay her dues. She said that one of the challenges of the job is that people tend to believe that she receives more privileges and that she is spoilt.

"Though my co-workers might not believe it, I am not treated any differently from them, I have to do my work just as anyone else," she said.

Confidence

She said that she does not let what others think stop her from doing her job effectively. Nicola has learnt how to adjust and is still friendly with everyone. Her main aim is to see Paymaster move forward. And as an accounting and reconciliation officer, she has to determine how much money each location makes daily and make sure it balances with their bank account.

She works sometimes beyond the regular nine to five, plus she juggles school and is caring for her daughter.

Working for her sister gives her great joy. "She is my hero because she has accomplished a lot and I admire her for it."
