Air Jamaica can make a profit
published: Monday | November 26, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I love Air Jamaica and I would not like to see that name and the airline disappear. Air Jamaica can return to profitability if it returns to its original concept and offer the best service in and out of Jamaica.

First agenda item is to audit the airline to see where savings can be had. Second is to offer more and better services. Increase the baggage limit to 70-1b for coach and 80-lb for first class.

During non-peak travel times have flat ticket rate of about US$210 return from the Miami-/Fort Lauderdale area, US$310 from New York/Newark and similar savings elsewhere.

Better ad campaign

The $10 is to cover food and drink that is to made available on all flights.

A better advertising campaign to bring back lost passengers!

I find the customer service to be excellent! But we must always look for ways to improve. Air Jamaica can be made profitable if operated the right way.

I am, etc.,
